There’s no question that new technology has made many positive impacts on our daily lives. Over the last decade, we’ve seen a lot of innovative change, specifically with the introduction of tablets, drones, smart watches, and electric vehicles.

Cutting edge technology has traditionally come with a hefty price, but previously financially-inaccessible technology has now become more mainstream, with 3D printers and drones available to the general public at affordable prices.

With that in mind, we wondered what tech trends are the most popular and which states are searching for what? To find this out, we used Google Search data to see which states were searching for which technological trends the most:

We’re unsure how bad the traffic is in Connecticut and Michigan, but these two states are the only ones searching for autonomous cars the most.

Alaska, Georgia, Hawaii, Nevada, and New Jersey are all aboard blockchain technology, with all these states searching for cryptocurrency as their most popular tech trend.

Louisiana, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, West Virginia, and Wyoming seem to all want to take to the sky because drones were their most searched piece of tech.

It may be of no surprise that 3D printing is the most popular tech trend overall. After all, it is just so useful! A whopping 15 states searched for this technology the most. Coming in joint second is voice search and drones, with 8 states each searching. Cryptocurrency comes in at third place with 6 states searching for this tech trend the most.

So, there you have it! 3D printing is undeniably the most popular new tech trend overall and the potential of it is fundamentally impressive. It will be interesting to see whether this new technology will become a household staple over the next decade.
