If you’re considering moving to Virginia, however, you may want to think twice as Richmond pays the lowest amount in the country with an average salary of $56,534.40.

Looking at the cities hiring the most for tech jobs, you may be surprised to see that Atlanta is the city with the most demand for tech employees. It has an average of 7,230.46 hires per 100,000 people.
Sadly, if you live in San Antonio, you may be job hunting for a while. This city hires the least amount of people with just an average of 483.33 new hires per 100,000 people.

When we look at individual job roles, San Jose dominates across the board by paying the highest salaries with only Seattle paying more for Computer Programmers.
On the other hand, Las Vegas joins Richmond as one of the lowest paying cities for tech jobs with some huge differences between salaries between the best and worst paying cities.

If you’re a Software Developer looking for a new job, you may want to avoid moving to Memphis and Las Vegas. Memphis hires the least amount of people and Las Vegas pays 60% less salary compared to San Jose, the top paying city.
The West Coast comes out top for Software with San Jose paying the most with an average salary of $147,326.40 and Seattle hiring the most with an average of 2,985.19 hires per 100,000 people.
Best & Worst Cities for Computer Systems Analysts in the US
Computer Systems Analysts may be upset to see that New Orleans is the worst city for hiring overall with an average of just 98.65 hires per 100,000 people. If you want to settle down in a music city, St. Louis might be a better fit.
Atlanta is the city where Computer Systems Analysts are the most in demand with 1,709.06 positions filled per 100,000 people. So, if you want to go into that career, we recommend moving there.
With all the money flowing into Las Vegas, it’s surprising to see that they offer the lowest average salary of $49,878.40 per year however if you still want some hot weather San Jose may be your best bet with this city paying the most with an average salary of $114,899.20 per year.

Party at the beach? If you’re a Computer Network Architect looking for a job and love the beach, Miami may be the place for you with this city hiring the most with 532.65 new hires per 100,000 people.
Tucson doesn’t seem to have a demand for Computer Network Architects sadly with only 11.57 new hires per 100,000 people.
Looking at salaries, San Jose pays the most with an average salary of $144,809.60 whereas Richmond pays the least with an average salary of $52,790.40.

Again San Jose comes out top for the city paying the highest salaries with an average salary of $190,361.60 whereas Richmond is the city paying the lowest salaries with an average salary of just $76,252.80.

Atlanta looks to be taking network security seriously because it hires the most Information Security Analysts throughout the country with 232.99 people hired per 100,000 people. Richmond, on the other hand, is hiring the least with only 8.21 people hired per 100,000 people.
San Jose comes out on top again for Information Security Analysts paying the highest salaries with an average salary of $127,649.60 whereas Richmond pays the lowest salaries on average at just $54,267.20.

Salt Lake City looks like it has the highest demand for Web Developers hiring the most with 384.96 new hires per 100,000 people. San Antonio, however, is hiring the least with only 33.99 new hires per 100,000 people.
Looking at salaries, San Jose puts a premium on web development paying the most with an average salary of $107,556.80. Richmond, on the other hand, doesn’t seem to value a Web Developer’s time as much because it pays an average salary of just $41,475.20.

Computer Programmers are certainly in demand in Atlanta! This city is hiring the most with 947.79 new hires per 100,000 people. Tucson is the city with the lowest demand, hiring only 42.38 new hires per 100,000 people.
If you’re a computer programmer looking for the best wages in the country, then Seattle is the place for you with this city paying to most with an average salary of $122,636.80. You may want to look at other places than Richmond because this city has the lowest average salary of just $48,027.20.

If you’d like to get paid the big bucks and chase those lucrative salaries, however, then moving to Silicon Valley should be at the front of your mind.
