Today, we are excited to share that AgileCraft has reached an agreement to be acquired by Atlassian.

Like most founders, I became passionate about solving a problem out of necessity and then realized other companies were experiencing the same challenges.  When the journey began in 2013, our vision had the potential to change the way large enterprises plan and execute work.  Looking back, this was an audacious goal for a scrappy startup, and I'm super proud of how we've helped enable transformational change for some of the world's most-admired companies.

From early on, our focus has been connecting business and technology teams' strategy to execution with the goal of revolutionizing the way modern enterprises learn and innovate.  Our mission was to simplify the building of software at scale by making all work visible, aligning teams and prioritizing work for value.  Enterprise agility is an important undertaking because most of the world’s big problems will be solved with technology, driven by software.

We have always known that business agility is core to our customers' survival in the long term. Therefore, we set out to offer customers a highly differentiated enterprise platform with the flexibility to scale across different teams, methods and flows.

The AgileCraft team has been on this journey because we love the mission, we love software and we love a good challenge.  We have worked day and night to build something lasting and truly impactful that we can all be proud of for decades to come. I am so thankful for the work and passion that every AgileCraft team member has contributed to build this company!

The path ahead for AgileCraft

As we begin our next chapter, we could not be more excited to be officially part of the Atlassian family.  As an entrepreneur, watching Mike and Scott build one of the world’s premier software companies has been inspiring.  It’s humbling to now be a part of that story.  I am certain that with the power of Atlassian’s people, products and customer base behind us, we can more quickly realize our goal of enabling 1,000 agile enterprises by 2023.

We bet big on Atlassian early in our journey and are excited to become a part of the Atlassian product family.  Atlassian now offers a complete solution for enterprises to transform, with the tools they need to align teams, drive outcomes and win together.  The combined capabilities of our offerings are unmatched in the marketplace today.  Connecting Jira Software, Trello, Jira Service Desk and AgileCraft together provides the foundation and building blocks for an organization to drive a modern digital enterprise, ultimately giving Atlassian customers choice and flexibility as they progress on their agile journey.

We will continue to focus relentlessly on our customers’ success.  We remain dedicated to pioneering enterprise agility and are thrilled to team up with the outstanding people at Atlassian to help our customers thrive.
